Luoying Hao is currently a PhD student in computer science at the University of Birmingham and the Southern University of Science and Technology, funded by the Southern University of Science and Technology. Her research interests include medical video analysis, action detection and deep learning. She was a research assistant at the South University of Science and Technology, researching Angle-Closure Glaucoma Screening from AS-OCT videos with Deep Learning. She received an MEng degree in pattern recognition and intelligent system from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, where she completed the research about Monocular Visual-Inertial Odometry Based SLAM System, published four EI conference papers and applied for three patents and was awarded Outstanding Graduate Student. She also carried out her undergraduate studies in automation at Xiang Tan University in China, where she graduated with the highest scores in her major and several national discipline competition awards.
