Tianyang is now a PhD student at University of Birmingham. He obtained his master degree at Chinese Academy of Sciences and was a visiting scholar at Southern University of Science and Technology. He won the National Scholarship of China in 2016 and obtained the Meritorious Winner of the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (United States) in 2016.

Tianyang’s research includes deep neural nets, variational methods, domain transfer, deep adversarial methods and image translation, with applications to image processing, computer vision and medical imaging analysis. His work has appeared across multiple application publications, including proceedings such as MICCAI, and journals such as IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging (IEEE TMI). He serves as a reviewer of IEEE TMI, Medical Image Analysis, IEEE JBHI, AAAI and MICCAI.
